It is possbile to upgrade my CM3588 4gb ram to a higher version with emcc memory ?

Can i just place the processor board ? or is the emmc memory on the larger nvme slots board ?

my new t6 doesn't want to boot from SSD into ubuntu. what procedure do i need to follow to get it to boot from the SD card ?
