Power & Source of Big Ideas

I finally did it, I threw my old T1 one to the trash can.
Yesterday I gave it just another shot at installing Ubuntu + HDMI, took all day and to no avail, what a piece of junk
The T1 seemed fine hardwarewise but had no wifi anyway....

On to the newer boards with Debian :ugeek:
I'm late to the thread here but I recommend to anyone in this scenario to just start with the Debian installation and the Geany IDE with the gcc or g++ (C, C++ respectively) compiler. On the NanoPi, Debian has the minimalistic LXDE desktop environment, and the whole thing boots in about 15 seconds. ...
Also I forgot to mention on the NanoPi wiki it says: This means you need to insert this SD card into some Linux computer. Some deskop Linuxes "mount" this removable media (USB keys, SD cards, ...) automatically, on others you need to mount it manually . Than edit referred files, "unm...
Wow that was fast, thanks igorp, I will look into it some more. Also I forgot to mention on the NanoPi wiki it says: Insert your MicroSD card into a PC host running Linux, mount the boot and rootfs sections of the SD card and follow the steps below: 1) If you want to change your kernel command line ...
Hello all, I'm trying to change the boot command line parameters on the Nanopi, in order to isolate one of the CPUs. This is pretty straightforward on an x86 machine via the GRUB line: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="isolcpus=1" However on Arm-Uboot you have to do it with the 'fw_setenv' utili...

Thankfully I have saved images I can get those from if necessary. I've just been a little bit caught up but I will try this again this week and post b...
Hello all, I've successfully compiled a custom kernel based on the default 4418 hdmi config file. I have the uImage file and have also compiled all the external modules. I did this on the board itself, not on my PC host. I copied the new uImage to the /boot directory and made a back up of the origin...
Ok I was being misled by a couple of things On the speaker test command, the c option was necessary to specify the number of channels, in this case 2 since the DAC and audio jack are stereo, so this worked: speaker-test -c 2 Alnd to play some of the .wavs with aplayer, you must specify the plughw ty...
Hello all, I have a brand new NANO PI M2A board. I burned the Debian Jessie Image as instructed, and it works real nice. Unfortunately I can't get any audio from it, nor from the audio jack or from the HDMI. I followed the instructions as per the Wiki, installing the alsa packages apt-get update apt...
