Power & Source of Big Ideas

The NanoPc-T6 only offers two 4-lane MIPI-DSI interfaces.
Bigger (15 inch or so) LCD panels require either eDP or LVDS inputs.

Has anyone any experience with 'MIPI to eDP' or 'MIPI to LVDS' convertors?

Thanks!
I have the same issue, I've been fighting with it all day. I patched the boot.img with Magisk Manager and flashed it, Magisk Manager show's I'm installed and Root Checker says I'm rooted, I was even able to install Adaway. But i cannot use any root app that needs to mount /System I tried using Root...
No, I never found a solution to this ...

I overcame this issue by pre-installing a landscape-manager app, which needs to be configured at first boot.

Working reasonable well
Hi, after quite sometime I am back to the NanoPcT4 ... Have you been able to resolve the boot-issue? I have tried to install Magisk (which was not working with Android8.1), and besides a failed Safetynet-check it seems work. At least some 'Root-Checker'-apps show the device is rooted, and these apps...
These are my notes for installing Boot animation/logo for NanoPCT4 in Android8.1 and for Android10 Follow instructions from: http://wiki.friendlyarm.com/wiki/index.php/NanoPC-T4#Custom_logo_and_boot_animation 12.11 Custom logo and boot animation 12.11.1 On/Off in device/rockchip/common/BoardConfig.m...
Ok, thank you!

I tried various approaches but never succeeded...

Has anybody compiled TWRP for the NanoPC-T4?

I have tried a few approaches but no success as of now ...

Thanks!
@v8dave:
Have you been able to find a solution for OTA-update?
I am looking for an idea which allows to re-flash a new FW without erasing user-data...

The backlight is controlled by a couple of signals controlled by the CPU. So if this configuration is wrong the Backlight would be not working.. My setup is based on a working setup (done by FriendlyELEC) with also includes a working setup for Backlight - so there is a high chance that the Backlight...
I was successful in connecting a 15.6 inch eDP panel (B156HAK02.0 with Backlight and USB-Touchscreen) to my NanoPC-T4, with both the panel and HDMI showing the same contents. As FriendlyELEC sells also a 7-inch eDP for the NanoPC, I took this as my starting point (thank you v8dave for the hint). Ess...

Did you succeed connecting the panel via eDP?

Yes, I got it running with a 15.5 inch panel - will post some more info hopefully soon.
Sorry, for the delayed response!
I understand that changes in InputReader.cpp only influence the touch-screen. The screen rotation can be disabled in 'frameworks/base/core/res/res/values/config.xml' by "<bool name="config_forceDefaultOrientation">true</bool>" **) and "<bool name="config_supportAutoRota...
Thanks for the fast reply!
Will find it ...
@v8dave: Thank you for sharing! I just modified my InputReader.cpp according to the previous post, and I see the screen as expected in Landscape mode, but the touchscreen being in Portrait mode. In post #1 you mentioned the same issue, how did you resolve this? Surprisingly without the changes in In...
We should not expect any support from Friendlyarm ... This is what I received from techsupport@friendltarm.com when asking about rooting: "Should not be root, I don't know why you want to root, if you need to access hardware resources, you can actually do it without root, you can check it out h...
Great! It's working for Android 8.1! When compiling there was in issue with: "ninja: error: 'build/target/product/security/PLATFORM.pk8', needed by 'out/target/product/nanopc-t4/obj/APPS/SuperSU_intermediates/package.apk', missing and no known rule to make it". I copied the existing 'build...
Thanks! This is really good news! Too bad, somehow I am stuck .. I compiled a boot-image including kernel, and it works. When installing Magisk I can create a patched-boot-image, but here my problems start: How do I install it? I tried to go into 'fastboot mode' by 'adb reboot bootloader', and by pr...
Here are the commands I am using: adb root adb disable-verity (requires adb version 1.0.33 and above) adb reboot adb root adb remount adb install SuperSU.apk (from SuperSU.zip V2.82 - package) adb push su /system/xbin/su (from SuperSU.zip V2.82 - package) adb shell chmod 06755 /system/xbin/su adb sh...
Not sure about this ...

Currently I am able to root my NanoPC-T4 via adb, but it only lasts until I reboot.
I have not found a way to 'autostart' it ...
To answer your question: Yes, Rooting is very important!

There are many apps which require root-access, and especially for a device like this - a device for (android) developers - this should be a no-brainer!

I have a NanoPC-T4, and just found out ....
How do I root the NanoPC-T4? From another post relating to NanoPI-T4 it says compile with 'Userdebug' - but this does not seem true. My Build Number says: nanopc_t4-userdebug 8.1.0 ... I either need a way to build the NanoPC-T4 rooted, or a way to root it afterwards. If this is not possible, I most ...
Once I figure it out, I'll let you know!
Found it!
Thanks for your help!
Thanks!

I checked the entire development tree, but could not find any file or directory containing 'HD702'
Great, to see that eDP is working with Android!

I try to connect a 14.5 inch eDP-panel with Backlight and Touchscreen to my NanoPC-T4.

Any idea which files i have to change, to get started?

Thank you!
Hi, I am new to this forum, new to the NanoPC and also new to eDP-panels, although I have been using several similar boards (Panda, Radxa, Raspberry, Orange PI, Ordroid, SECO ...) over the last couple of years. It was very easy and straight forward to re-build and install Android 8.1 - thanks to the...
