I tried doing what I described above, but the system fails to boot when I enable UART2 and select the uart2b mux option. Any suggestions?

Looking at the NanoPi M4 schematic and the RK3399 TRM, it appears possible to connect UART2 to pins 8 and 10 of the 40-pin Raspberry Pi style connector on the NanoPi M4.
