I left things idle for a few months but just installed the latest (2024-8-19) image and everything seems to be working well now.
I played some Dolby TrueHD stuff and had no dropouts. No idea when this was fixed but it's ok now. Also using Kodi 21.1 now instead of 20.5.

Plain AC3 seems to have no troubles. EAC3, TrueHD all get disrupted by any other UI activity, even drawing subtitles seems to cause it.

The NanoPC T6 with Android tablet or TV builds generally plays videos OK but I get a lot of audio dropouts. Playing in Kodi, using HDMI and passthrough to a Yamaha AVR.
