Power & Source of Big Ideas

I am using a SanDisk Ultra 16GB Class 10. Have tried 2 different ones, with same issues.
I would like to learn Python, and use it on the NanoPi. Most of the examples I am seing are for the RPI.
How can I use things like I2c & SPI for it.
I am having trouble connecting the on board wifi. I have attached an aerial and can see the access point using sudo nmcli dev wifi I follow the instructions on the wiki but it does not connect My USB wifi dongle works great. Access point has no security. Anyone else got it working or any ideas? Tha...
I am constantly getting this in the terminal. What is the reason for this. Thank you, running flash_eMMC.sh -d /mnt/sdcard/Ubuntu-Core-qte/
worked.
hi,All We just uploaded the file in mediafire, please go to download. I am sorry, my post was very vague. When I follow what the wiki says: (of course replacing that IP address with my boards IP address) Our Ubuntu-Core contains the Rpi-Monitor utility with which users can check system information and status. In our case our NEO Air's IP was 192.168.1.230 and we typed...
I cannot get System Information with Rpi-Monitor working as explained in the WiKi for the NanoPi NEO Air.
I just downloaded and installed the latest firmware, nanopi-air-eflasher-sd8g.img.zip. when I do a apt-get update i get the following issue. ... ... 100% [Translation-en 0 B] 6651 kB/s100% [Working] 6651 kB/s100% [Translation-en 0 B] 6651 kB/s100% [Working] 6651 kB/s Fetched 473 B in 23s (20 B/s) Re...
hey guy, If you use NanoPi NEO Air you must setup the WiFi configuration by terminal, or you can use a serial cable to configure the USB WiFi configuration. Of corese you can configure the board as WiFi AP, but the board doesn't support as AP module and normal module as the same time. That is not w...
Why would you add a wifi when the board has one ?

hi, you can buy this data cable, and then try

That cable has nothing to do with the spare USB pins.
I dont think you understand my question. Think of it like you bought it at the store, and you dont know anything about it. How are you going to set up the WiFi? Most stuff like this comes out of the box in AP mode so you can use your phone or laptop to connect to it, go to its web page to set it up ...
Hi, Red wire to pin 1 Green Wire to pin 2 White wire to pin 3 Black wire to pin 12 That would be backwards for the B+ & B- per the documents. But regardless I did try that before I posted. When I tried it that way I got nothing at all in the terminal. So this is not the problem But thanks for t...
Friendly arm, do you have any input to this problem ?
Are there instruction for building the sources for the Neo ?
I would like to use make menu to add it more features.
I am looking for easy to follow instructions like this page here.
https://github.com/MediaTek-Labs/linkit-smart-7688-feed
why would they ship a product without a valid mac address, I am not happy to hear this.
This is what I did, not saying it's the best way but worked fine for me. #1) apt-get install xubuntu-desktop #2) apt-get install xrdp then type startx& from the pc start the remote desktop and enter in it's IP address. On occasion the first time connecting it errored out. But the next attempt it...
I like my NanoPi NEO Air allot. So far it's much better than a few of the other products I have gotten from you in the past, meaning that it runs far cooler than the others. One thing I am trying to figure out is if i were to place this in a production unit, without having terminal access how can i ...
Maybe you can check whether your wiring is correct . I did check it, it is correct. Just a wild guess - this couldn't have anything to do with the pullup resistors on D+ or D- to differentiate USB type-1 from USB type-2 devices, could it? I am not sure I follow. On other devices like RPI, or BBB, w...
I cut a USB cable to about 3", and soldered the following. Red wire to pin 1 White Wire to pin 2 Green wire to pin 3 Black wire to pin 12 I have plugged in several different kinds of USB devices from pen drives, Ethernet adapters, audio devices and none of them enumerate. I have used these same...
I had to open
nano /etc/apt/sources.list

and uncomment these 2 line, then do another apt-get update.
deb http://ports.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-ports/ wily universe multiverse
deb-src http://ports.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-ports/ wily universe
For anyone else who wants a desktop to log into to run apps, all I did was this and works great.

#1) apt-get install xubuntu-desktop
#2) apt-get install xrdp

reboot and do startx &

then on your PC run Remote Desktop Connection and enter in the IP address of your device.
I understand, but is't there a way I can apt-get install things to get a desktop which I can either use Remote Desktop Connection or VNC to get to it ?

Mike,

Add this to your /etc/apt/sources.list

Code: Select all

deb http://ports.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-ports/ wily universe multiverse

Thank everyone for the help, this post here worked like a charm. Thank you
I have an app that I would like to use on the NanoPi NEO that can only be used from a GUI desktop. I have installed tightvncserver, and can connecto to it but its a blank screen. I then installed xorg, and gdm, now i get a terminal window when I remote in with VNC. Seems like I am getting close, but...
Friendly ARM what is the problem here? I cannot install many packages. Currently its useless in this state.

If you can't download a specific package do a

apt-get update

first. If you haven't done that for awhile you may find the package manager needs to be updated before it will download anything.

Yes, I always do that before I install anything.
Thank you, but I should not have to do that. Something is not right.
apt-get update works fine. I was able to install nano, but when I tried apt-get install htop i got the following error. I received the same error with a couple other common packages as well like tightvncserver. root@FriendlyARM:~# apt-get install htop Reading package lists... Done Building dependenc...

I have tried 3 different usb-wifi adapters but have been unsuccessful getting them to work. More than likely not knowing the proper way to set them up. Could someone share some light on what I need to edit to get them working please.
