Unfortunately we haven't tested the driver under Debian for CAM500A. We already compiled the CAM500A driver into our latest Debian kernel but haven't had time to do enough tests.

Hi what terminal did you login to your Pi 2 from? We tried that from a host running Ubuntu 14.04 and it worked. Since this was a communication process between your terminal and the Pi 2 we suspect that this issue might be associated with your terminal.
Hi If you run Debian you can try "free -m" in a commandline terminal. If you run Android you can check it like what you will do when you check an Android phone
