Hi. We tested the new image based on xenial core and 16.04 with new QT. I downloaded it from your site (google docs).
It seems that camera cam500b is not working due to ION lack:
$ sudo nanocams -p 1 -n 40 -c 4 -o IMG001.jpg
open /dev/ion failed!
E/542: failed to ion_open, errno = 2

another bug is:
- ldd nanocams return no ion lib. But the code try to use the call from it.

We use 4418 nanopi S2 board.
It seems that under the newer kernel you must rewrite the example code for use drm way to make cam500b working

I also tried to use cam500b with this image on Nano Pi S2. Also, I tried to compile "nanocams" binary from sources (https://github.com/friendlyarm/nexell_linux_platform/tree/master/nanocams) and got the same error. It looks like examples are provided for the old Linux kernel.

Can someone provide working C/C++ example of querying images from the camera?

I have the same issue. i use smart + sdk + cam500b . in friendly core, there is no driver (ion) for camera.
i don't know what should i do. please help!!!
