M2 - CMOS Camera module

Moderators: chensy, FATechsupport

I need to test the CAM500 module on M2 but current Debian is outdated and it does not have support for the camera.
I have rebuild the kernel with support for the OV5640, the camera module is identified but no /dev/video0 is created.

[ 2.148000] gspca_main: v2.14.0 registered
[ 2.152000] nxp_v4l2_probe entered
[ 2.156000] ...................................ov5640_probe 2234
[ 2.160000] ...................................ov5640_video_probe 2193
[ 2.168000] OV5640 Chip ID 0x5640 detected
[ 2.172000] ov5640_initialize_ctrls.............1794...........
[ 2.180000] create_nxp_out
[ 2.180000] register_nxp_out
[ 2.180000] usbcore: registered new interface driver uvcvideo
[ 2.184000] USB Video Class driver (1.1.1)

I have the new kernel running but i think there are some issues with the device nodes creation with this Debian version and with the kernel version being different.

Please, update Debian with support v4l2 to CMOS camera.
Android has some issues with my monitor and HDMI so i cannot test the camera.

UPDATE:
** any chance we can get v4l2 ported from Android to Debian?
Currently the 4418 based board (including M2) only work with CAM500A under Android.

Here is a link to our latest 4418 based boards' image files:
