M2 Upload problem

Moderators: chensy, FATechsupport

Hi,

I've discovered there was a problem with the M2 upload speed, i can go on internet with it but it's slow and sometimes it doesn't work. When i install a server on it, it's impossible to take data but we can easily send data to the M2.
I've finaly found the problem come from my switch "D-link DGS-108"(it works perfectly when the M2 is connected to different routers), maybe because of the Qos ? I used other boards with this router, like differents raspberry pi so i don't understand why only the M2 doesn't work :/
Edit: With a network test, the upload data is around 0 during 90% of the time, it's just at then end it go up to his normal speed. i also can also download few kb from the M2 but it stop after 2/3 sec, and sometimes putty can't do a connection to the board surly for the same reason.

Do you have an explanation and maybe a cheap solution ?
We are not quite sure about the root cause. The Ethernet (hardware) should be fine. Its TX can reach 600Mb/s and its RX can reach 900Mb/s.
We suspect that some system settings may be inappropriate.
Hi,

Bad new with the new switch Netgear G5205 I've exacly the same problem, the transfer stop after 1 sec it's really slow:

As i said in the email i suspect something with the automatic Qos because with my routers i can do Qos rules and I don't have problem but with the switches where the Qos rules seem to be automatic, it doesn't work :/

Edit: it's exacly the same problem for this man: http://superuser.com/questions/258067/1 ... ediacenter
I didn't find a solution but it seems to be the gigabit "mode" of the M2 the problem, i desactived auto-negotiation, choosed 100Mb/s and it works with the switch with no problem but it's still 100Mb/s and i bought this board specialy for his Gigabit port!

I can stop the auto-negotiation for 100Mb/s but not for 1000Mb/s, the link will break, like if i plug/unplug the ethernet cable.

With Ethtool I've got some information, i need an "expert" for find something anormal:

Ethtool eth0:

Code: Select all

Settings for eth0:
Supported ports: [ TP MII ]
   Supported link modes:   10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full
                           100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full
                           1000baseT/Half 1000baseT/Full
   Supported pause frame use: No
   Supports auto-negotiation: Yes
   Advertised link modes:  1000baseT/Full
   Advertised pause frame use: No
   Advertised auto-negotiation: Yes
   Speed: 1000Mb/s
   Duplex: Full
   Port: MII
   PHYAD: 7
   Transceiver: external
   Auto-negotiation: on
   Supports Wake-on: ug
   Wake-on: d
   Current message level: 0x0000003f (63)
drv probe link timer ifdown ifup
   Link detected: yes

Ethernet driver settings:

Code: Select all

root@NanoPi2:~# sudo ethtool -i eth0
sudo: unable to resolve host NanoPi2
driver: st_gmac
version: March_2013
firmware-version:
bus-info:
supports-statistics: yes
supports-test: no
supports-eeprom-access: no
supports-register-dump: yes
supports-priv-flags: no

Autonegotiation, Rx and Tx:

Code: Select all

root@NanoPi2:~# sudo ethtool -a eth0
sudo: unable to resolve host NanoPi2
Pause parameters for eth0:
Autonegotiate:   on
RX:      off
TX:      off

I think Rx, and Tx should not be off, but i tested with 100Mb/s with autonegotiation off or on and i've found the same result.
