The instructions on the FriendlyARM wiki direct you to use the Linux 3.4 git branch:
Code: Select all
git clone https://github.com/friendlyarm/linux-3.4.y.git
cd linux-3.4.y
git checkout nanopi2-lollipop-mr1
I see that the FriendlyARM git account also has a Linux 4.1 repo. Can this kernel be used with the M3? Does it have proper support for everything that the 3.4 kernel does?

No, it's not for the NanoPi M3, but for H3 boards.
The 6818 SoC manufacturer said they would provide 4.x within one month, then we'll have to check it first.
Thank you

Any word from the vendor? Is Linux 4.x available yet?

I would also be interested in Linux 4.x support for the NanoPi M3. I'm specifically looking for a board that will support power management and LVDS LCD panels. Would you please check with the vendor to see when they plan to support Linux 4.x?

Hi @Mindee,
Can you please indicate to us, what kernel repository is used for the FriendlyCore-Xenial-4.4-20171109.img image ?
I see only linux-3.4 but not a 4.4.
Can you please inform us what is the 4.4 linux kernel repository used in that image?
