2GB RAM version and 64-bits 4.x kernel support for NanoPC-T3

Moderators: chensy, FATechsupport

Hello @FriendlyARM,

can you please provide an update on the current status of two longstanding issues that have been frequently discussed in the forums for NanoPi-M3/NanoPC-T3:

  • true 64-bits bootloader and Linux 4.x kernel support for S5P6818 and the NanoPi-M3/NanoPC-T3
  • the 2GB RAM version of NanoPC-T3
Many thanks in advance & best regards

Hello again, @FATechsupport, @chensy, @Mindee, FriendlyARM management,

why does it seem so difficult to get a simple statement from you as a reply to the questions above:

As a serious company, you should clearly have some plans on how to move forward with both the 64-bits kernel 4.4.x - which in the meantime, the S5P6818 SoC manufacturer Nexell/Zhongwei Semi has confirmed to have delivered to you!

What is the issue that makes you ignore/not reply to all questions posted here regarding your plans/future progess with the M3/T3 boards in terms of 64-bits kernel and the 2G (or even a 4G) version?

Many thanks & best regards
awl
Have you sent a direct email to them about this?

I've tried a few times and got no reply either. Poor customer service if you ask me. :(
Hi as for the true 64-bits bootloader and Linux 4.x kernel support we haven't gotten full complete source code from Samsung. As soon as we get their code we will release them asap

We do have a plan to release a 2G RAM T3. We are still working on its design and wish to release one in a couple of months.

Hi @FATechsupport,

Can you please indicate to us, what kernel repository is used for the FriendlyCore-Xenial-4.4-20171109.img image ?
I see only linux-3.4 but not a 4.4.

Can you please inform us what is the 4.4 linux kernel repository used in that image?
