Can't get wlan stick up and running as it should

Moderators: chensy, FATechsupport

Hello,

if I use the command ifconfig, with the plugged wlan stick not as wlan0, but is displayed as wlxe84e06454862.
It is a EDUP Stick with a RTL8192CU Chipset.

If i run:

sudo nmcli dev
DEVICE TYPE STATE CONNECTION
eth0 ethernet connected Wired connection 1
wlxe84e06454862 wifi connected MyWLan
lo loopback unmanaged --

The Config was done with sudo nmcli dev wifi connect "SSID" password "PASSWORD".

But I'can get the Adapter to be wlan0, and to be configured with a static address.

Any help is welcome.

It hasnt to be wlan0. wlxe84e06454862 is done after the new naming convention in debian 9 stretch.

For getting a static IP for this device name take a look at the following FAQ-Page:
http://wiki.friendlyarm.com/wiki/index. ... _Static_IP

or try to change the device-entry with the console-gui version of nmcli which is named nmtui :)
