NanoPi Neo Air doesn't boot

As per the subject, my new board doesn't boot, either from the eMMC or from the SD card. It stays in a state where the blue light continues to flash indicating booting. Does anyone know how to resolve this?

You would probably find some helpful messages if you are running a terminal program like minicom while connected to the debug or UART port using something like the PSU-ONECOMM.
