NanoPI neo2 nas dock

Moderators: chensy, FATechsupport

i purchased a kit with the neo2 and nas dock, i have installed the nanopi-neo2_debian-nas-jessie_4.16.0_20180420.img and it boots fine but it will not detect any HD's. i have tried 2 SSD's and 1 2.5" WD hd and nothing shows for hard drives. Is there a bootloader image i need to update to support the nas dock? i would assume that with the kit it was already installed.

with this image it should normally detect the HDD as /dev/sda

Iam using 2 Neo2 with the silver-NAS-case under armbian mainline (debian stretch) and installed there a samba-server:
https://dl.armbian.com/nanopineo2/archi ... 4.14.14.7z

Did you buy the 12V Power Supply or did you have it on your own?
My powersupply has 12V/2A (from a old DSL-Router) and is working Ok 24/7

On mine I got a normal 2.5" 320GB HDD inside the case

Or did you buy the "Nas dock" only without case? because the NAS-Dock-only (JMS20329 = USB2.0)
http://www.friendlyarm.com/index.php?ro ... egory=true

has a different HDD-Controller Chipset than the NAS-Case with a NAS-Dock inside has JMS567 (USB 3.0 Controller connected to USB 2.0)
http://www.friendlyarm.com/index.php?ro ... egory=true

Maybe the image you downloaded does support only the newer JMS567?
I ordered the complete package including the power supply, i look at the board and the chipset model is JMS567 so i am pretty sure the image supports it. I will try a 12V 4A power supply and see if that works.
i have tried 3 different drive 2 SSD's and 1 WD Black 2.5" with a 12 v 5A power supply still nothing, it does detect the usb hub from the nas board but no hd's show up here is dmesg log

I ordered the complete package including the power supply, i look at the board and the chipset model is JMS567 so i am pretty sure the image supports it. I will try a 12V 4A power supply and see if that works.

Did you ordered a soldered Neo2 oder did you solder the pins youself?

If you didnt see more with the 12V/4A (you didnt need 4A :) ) the please try armbian first before searching too long with the friendlyarm-image :)
pins where soldered from factory, yeah i guess i will try armbian
Booted with armbian, same issue no HD detected. I am at a loss here.
