I dd copied my emmc from 1 NanpPi NEO Air to another no WiFi

Moderators: chensy, FATechsupport

Been working on a new NanoPi NEO air for 2 days. I all most had it all done but could not get a music player to work so gave up and I have it working real good on my older NanoPi NEO Air for very long.

I put a USB 8GB stick on them and booted with a SD card and did this:

dd if=/dev/mmcblk1 of=/dev/sda

Then on the new one copy that back with this:

dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/mmcblk1

Can only get on it with the RS232. I changed it's hostname and that's about it.

Here is what I get:

root@NanoPi-NEO-Air:/# ifconfig wlan0 up
SIOCSIFFLAGS: Operation not permitted
root@NanoPi-NEO-Air:/#

There the same hardware with the NanoHat-PCM5102A.

I thought I could just copy it and change the hose name and it work just like the other one.

Could it be some MAC address or something? I just don't know what can I do to fix this.

Here is what the ifconfig -a looks like on the coped one:

root@NanoPi-NEO-Air:/# ifconfig -a

If that helps.

I hope some one know how to fix this.

I had to start over again DD copied it but before I booted it edit out the mount of the 8GB SD card in /etc/fstab

Edit it's host name too in /ect/hostname

But it still don't get WiFi. I plug in a USB to Ethernet and did dhclient enxc8d719a65db8 and it got a ip like that.

I think it's not loading the Modules.

If I do this command it show this.

root@NanoPi-NEO-Air:~# systemctl status systemd-modules-load.service
systemd-modules-load.service - Load Kernel Modules
Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/systemd-modules-load.service; static; vendor preset: enabled)

Is there a way to fix this?

-Raymond Day
I don't think that's it because I get the same on the NanoPi NEO Air I copied it from. It has WiFi.

If I do this:

root@NanoPi-NEO-Air:~# nmcli dev wifi connect "OnHub" password "password" ifname wlan0
Error: No network with SSID 'OnHub' found.

It gets that error. I changed the real password in this post.

This my be why:

root@NanoPi-NEO-Air:~# ifconfig wlan0 up
SIOCSIFFLAGS: Operation not permitted
root@NanoPi-NEO-Air:~#

How do I fix that?

try
sudo service networking restart
or check
