Missing VLAN support in friendlycore for NanoPi-R1S-H5?

I bought this device to use it as a router. I flashed it with nanopi-r1s-h5_sd_friendlycore-xenial_4.14_arm64_20191219.img from this source: http://dl.friendlyarm.com/nanopir1sh5. It uses kernel 4.14.111.
As I need to use VLAN tagging on my LAN and for VDSL, I tried to configure a VLAN interface, but it fails. After some googling, I tried to load the kernel module 8021q to make it work. However, the module seems to be missing!
Is there something wrong with my as-flashed friendlycore image? Or is the dedicated OS image for this router really missing VLAN support?
