which NEO2 image

Moderators: chensy, FATechsupport

There doesn't seem to be much info regarding which image to go for. http://wiki.friendlyarm.com/wiki/index. ... on_TF_Card suggests flashing the ubuntu image by default but there's also a debian image which at the time of writing is slightly more recent than ubuntu. So questions are:

1) Why is there a choice of 2 o/s images for the NEO2?
2) Is ubuntu better suited to some tasks than debian or vice versa?

Thanks!
Joe
Surely there must be a simple answer to this question.. :(

1) Why is there a choice of 2 o/s images for the NEO2?——> There are two images one is a kernel Linux-3.4 and the other is mainline kernel.

2) Is ubuntu better suited to some tasks than debian or vice versa? ——> Ubuntu Core with Qt-Embedded is a light Linux system without X-windows. It is based on the official UbuntuCore system and uses the Qt-Embedded 's GUI . The UbuntuCore itself is a simplified version of Ubuntu and allows users to easily upgrade utilities and integrate drivers. These features give engineers great flexibility in making customized systems for various applications thus make it very popular in industrial and enterprise applications.
