NanoPi NEO2

Moderators: chensy, FATechsupport

There is something wrong with the nanopi-neo2_ubuntu-oled_4.14.0_20171208.img for the NEO2

The /etc/apt/source.list file is wrong, and needs to get updated.

apt-get update returns the following.

Hit:1 http://mirrors.tuna.tsinghua.edu.cn/ubuntu-ports xenial-security InRelease
0% [Connecting to 192.168.1.9 (192.168.1.9)]

And gets stuck there.
My sources.list for my Neo2 with OLED looks like:

Code: Select all

root@NanoPi-NEO2:/etc/apt# more sources.list
deb http://mirrors.ustc.edu.cn/ubuntu-ports/ xenial main multiverse restricted universe
deb http://mirrors.ustc.edu.cn/ubuntu-ports/ xenial-backports main multiverse restricted universe
deb http://mirrors.ustc.edu.cn/ubuntu-ports/ xenial-proposed main multiverse restricted universe
deb http://mirrors.ustc.edu.cn/ubuntu-ports/ xenial-security main multiverse restricted universe
deb http://mirrors.ustc.edu.cn/ubuntu-ports/ xenial-updates main multiverse restricted universe
deb-src http://mirrors.ustc.edu.cn/ubuntu-ports/ xenial main multiverse restricted universe
deb-src http://mirrors.ustc.edu.cn/ubuntu-ports/ xenial-backports main multiverse restricted universe
deb-src http://mirrors.ustc.edu.cn/ubuntu-ports/ xenial-proposed main multiverse restricted universe
deb-src http://mirrors.ustc.edu.cn/ubuntu-ports/ xenial-security main multiverse restricted universe
deb-src http://mirrors.ustc.edu.cn/ubuntu-ports/ xenial-updates main multiverse restricted universe

and it doesnt get stuck...
AND [Connecting to 192.168.1.9 (192.168.1.9)] should be on your local network - maybe not a update-server problem.
Yes. will fix it today. Alse you can change source.list by yourself
@guidol, are you sure your using ...4.14.0_20171208.img ? I just downloaded it and can't see how yours could be different.
Here is mine.

root@NanoPi-NEO2:/etc/apt# more sources.list
deb http://192.168.1.9/ubuntu-ports/ xenial main multiverse restricted universe
deb http://192.168.1.9/ubuntu-ports/ xenial-backports main multiverse restricted universe
deb http://192.168.1.9/ubuntu-ports/ xenial-proposed main multiverse restricted universe
deb http://mirrors.tuna.tsinghua.edu.cn/ubuntu-ports/ xenial-security main multiverse restricted universe
deb http://192.168.1.9/ubuntu-ports/ xenial-updates main multiverse restricted universe
deb-src http://192.168.1.9/ubuntu-ports/ xenial main multiverse restricted universe
deb-src http://192.168.1.9/ubuntu-ports/ xenial-backports main multiverse restricted universe
deb-src http://192.168.1.9/ubuntu-ports/ xenial-proposed main multiverse restricted universe
deb-src http://mirrors.tuna.tsinghua.edu.cn/ubuntu-ports/ xenial-security main multiverse restricted universe
deb-src http://192.168.1.9/ubuntu-ports/ xenial-updates main multiverse restricted universe
root@NanoPi-NEO2:/etc/apt#

@Maroon5, I know we can change it, but more informing FA that they have this img messed up.

Mine is a "little" bit older :)
nanopi-neo2_ubuntu-oled_4.11.2_20170909.img.zip
Linux NanoPi-NEO2 4.11.2 #4 SMP Wed Jul 19 17:53:37 CST 2017 aarch64 aarch64 aarch64 GNU/Linux

I'll check the "new" download :)

But 192.168.1.x is a local network (at FriendlyElec or the developer? )
Replace 192.168.1.6 in /etc/apt/sources.list with
mirrors.tuna.tsinghua.edu.cn
looks like

Code: Select all

deb http://mirrors.tuna.tsinghua.edu.cn/ubuntu-ports/ xenial main multiverse restricted universe
deb http://mirrors.tuna.tsinghua.edu.cn/ubuntu-ports/ xenial-backports main multiverse restricted universe
deb http://mirrors.tuna.tsinghua.edu.cn/ubuntu-ports/ xenial-proposed main multiverse restricted universe
deb http://mirrors.tuna.tsinghua.edu.cn/ubuntu-ports/ xenial-security main multiverse restricted universe
deb http://mirrors.tuna.tsinghua.edu.cn/ubuntu-ports/ xenial-updates main multiverse restricted universe
deb-src http://mirrors.tuna.tsinghua.edu.cn/ubuntu-ports/ xenial main multiverse restricted universe
deb-src http://mirrors.tuna.tsinghua.edu.cn/ubuntu-ports/ xenial-backports main multiverse restricted universe
deb-src http://mirrors.tuna.tsinghua.edu.cn/ubuntu-ports/ xenial-proposed main multiverse restricted universe
deb-src http://mirrors.tuna.tsinghua.edu.cn/ubuntu-ports/ xenial-security main multiverse restricted universe
deb-src http://mirrors.tuna.tsinghua.edu.cn/ubuntu-ports/ xenial-updates main multiverse restricted universe

mirrors.ustc.edu.cn (http://mirrors.ustc.edu.cn/ubuntu-ports/ubuntu-ports - EMPTY 404 Not Found )

After saving the file you should could do a apt update & upgrade without error....

@Maroon5: why cant I update from Linux NanoPi-NEO2 4.11.2 to 4.14.0 via apt update & upgrade & dist-upgrade ?
I installed the 4.14.0 and updated with the modified sources.list successfully:
Fetched 75.2 MB in 9min 33s (131 kB/s)
Linux NanoPi-NEO2 4.14.0 #82 SMP Fri Dec 8 14:33:14 CST 2017 aarch64 aarch64 aarch64 GNU/Linux
