ldconfig.real -i generates a segmentation fault

Running ldconfig.real -i (ignoring auxiliary cache) ought to rebuild the library cache. Instead, the binary generates a segmentation fault.
This error is reproducible on the original FriendlyCore Xenial image and the FriendlyCore+OLED image from here.
It does not occur with the Armbian 5.34 (4.13 kernel) or the Armbian 5.35 (3.4 kernel) distro images from here.
All images were test as they are, without updates or modifications.
I think the problem may lie in libc, but I'm not sure how to find out.
Any suggestions...?
