Updating BlueZ won't find Bluetooth adapter

Moderators: chensy, FATechsupport

Hi!

I need latest BlueZ library 5.43, that's why I removed the pre-installed version 5.37 and installed 5.43 from sources. Unfortunately the Bluetooth adapter isn't found any longer.

I did:

1. apt-get remove bluez
2. Compile and installed bluez 5.43 from sources
3. Reboot
4. Start Bluetooth service: service bluetooth start
5. hciconfig hci0 up now doesn't find the Bluetooth adapter any longer: Can't get device info: No such device

The Bluetooth adapter however worked with pre-installed BlueZ.

Any ideas why this happens and how to solve this?

Maybe it depends on some config file, I didn't try that.

I think it's better to apt-get it. If no, just keeping it was.
