eMMC Module

Where can you find a module for this board? or a Cable/Adapter? Thanks
I would like to know this, too. I am strongly considering purchasing this board, but without an eMMC module, the board is a lot less appealing.

NanoPi K2 eMMC module is available here:
http://www.friendlyarm.com/index.php?ro ... uct_id=209

and the adapter for reading/writing the module is here:
http://www.friendlyarm.com/index.php?ro ... uct_id=208

PS: replace the part of the URL "http://www.Dissertation.com" with the URL of www(dot)f r i e n d l y a r m(dot)com
because if you do write "f r i e n d l y a r m" without spaces it will be friendlyarm
I'm keen on purchasing this device with an eMMC and compatibility with a newer version of Android. The links posted do not work. Can you please get back to me ASAP? Thanks.

strange - in edit Mode there where the right links BUT after saving there where other links....

Now I put the URLs in code-brackets - so you have to copy them and insert as URL in the Browwser.

@F r i e n d l y A R M: I think you have to check your Forum-Installation, because

Code: Select all

h t t p : / / w w w . f r i e n d l y a r m . c o m /index.php?route=product/product&product_id=208

have been rerouted to
http://www.dissertation.com/index.php?r ... uct_id=208

Doenst look good :(

BTW: Every f r i e n d l y a r m (without spaces) is replaced (if lowercase or uppercase) with friendlyarm
Thank you for the prompt response. Much appreciated...

The other question is around getting a more updated version of Android. V 5.1.1 seems quite old. There are other S905 SOCs out there which have Android 6.x based images released.

Would anyone be aware of a timeline on when this would be made available?

If you want a newer Android woudlnt it be better/cheaper to buy a Androd-TV-Box?
Most companys like F r i e n d l y A R M do build only one version with tools of the cpu manufactuerer and
the next new build will come with the next new board :)

Or you will find a free version which works in a free custom rom.

So like armbian-Linux does run on some TV-Boxes with S8xx/S9xx CPUs, but mostly without graphical hardware acceleration :(

F r i e n d l y A R M itself has closed from Feb 10 to Feb 22 for the Chinese Lunar New Year.
They will get back to work on Feb 23.
I'm terribly sorry ,we have fixed this
Thank you for your reply. Much appreciated.

Had ordered the eMMC module with the MicroSD Adapter. Once I get the eMMC module, will it just be a matter of sticking it into an SD Card adapter and uploading the firmware into it from the WinDiskImager or do I need to initialise the module somehow before it gets recognised by my PC (using Windows 10 BTW and plan to use a Sandisk adapter)?

I was looking around for the documentation on the process but could not fine any.
I purchased the eMMC module and it works except for one "feature". When I have eMMC installed and boot of it, all of the USB ports are disabled. I had to go back to the SD card in order to use the USB ports. Is this a known issue?
