I bought the Nanopi-k2 for a media-centric project, i found a good wiki so i presumed support was good or at least i could have a running board in no time, i was totally WRONG!
the linux image is horrible: the only resolution supported is 1080p and with overscan problems and if you unplug the HDMI cable the only way to get something on screen is to reboot the machine!
On android the problem is similar: all non-1080p screens have overscan problems and there is not display option.

I tried to re-compile kernel, try custon roms, etc. but nothing so far worked, i also contacted support but no reply so far.

Long story short if you want a working board stay away from the k2 at least for now!

I also encountered the same issue with the K2, i have two of these and it would be great if you could adjust the overscan for android to suit your TV. Does anybody know how to do this?

I tried patching armbian u-boot and it worked a lot better than default ubuntu (mostly because of the crappy default u-boot!):
Linux is stable and hdmi is working even after re-plugging it but it has the same overscan problem as android.
I don't know if this version is better but from my experience most problems comes from uboot and without proper patches i bet it's almost the same.

I also tried compiling uboot and kernel from sources, mixing with other linux, android etc. but nothing worked so far.

I undestand FriendlyElec is not a big company like some competitor (like the almost identical odroid-c2 that has huge support) but i spent WEEKS OF WORK for a project that could not be achieved because none in friendlyelec is even replying to my emails!

Also they sell it as a working product, at least in android but it's far from the truth:
even android porting was done with the minimal effort,let alone support!

Long story short stay away from this board, other board seems promising (i have a neo2) but i will check forums before believing the wiki.

We fixed some problems in u-boot and there are a lot of patches over mainline Linux that this board works at all. The situation with Amlogic is improving since it looks like Amlogic put some cash on the table.

That is more or less the best what is possible on those boards.Forget about old kernel since it is not getting any attention from professionals anymore.

Sorry to hijack this, is someone have an idea of an Android image issue I had in Android board please?
