It's usually not.
And I hardly understand, what is a /dev/video8 device (dual-cam setup include only 2x4 devices, with a /dev/video7 is latest).
I just assume that you use some very unorthodox configuration, so please share it in detail. ("correct question is about 50% of correct answer")
