I bought an RK3399 SOM kit to try it out with the idea of using the SOM on my carrier board and making the design lower power. as I don't need the HDMI, Ethernet etc. The trouble now is that I can't purchase the necessary SODIMM socket. TE don't have any distributor for this part.

Back on the shelf, it goes. :(

There are other interesting choices, such as (NEO4):

-> The camera module from the CAM1320 breakout is EOL.

-> Why are there GPIO, I2C and SPI buses on NEO4's GPIO1 (40 pin header) that are 3V logic and only 5V and 3V3 supply pins available on the same connector?

I should have posted this long before now.

I did find a suitable connector. The issue was that the one specified by FA in the Wiki was a high spec part with heavier gold plating and therefore on special factory order only with a high MOQ. I found one of them in the same product range with gold flashing which will work fine for lower volume designs.
