[SOLVED] Can I install a linux distribution on NanoPi R4S?

Moderators: chensy, FATechsupport

It seems NanoPi R4S is the kind of hardware I was looking for.

However, I gave up on NanoPi R2S before because I couldn't find a way to
  • build bootaloader without armbian or download bootloader
  • install bootloader manually
  • build mainline or vendor kernel manually and install it
I always like to install Gentoo Linux or Arch Linux manually.

There are documentations on how to install pre-compiled bootloader and compile kernel for Raspberry Pi.
Thus, I used to use Raspberry Pi. But, Raspberry Pi hardware isn't suitable for a router.

I like to see proper documentations on NanoPi R4S.
It turns out that somebody already figured out how to manually install gentoo linux on NanoPi R4S.
I found this with "gentoo nanopi r4s" as search keywords.

This is crazy. The amount of time he must have poured into this is unimaginable.

There is also a gentoo installation guide for NanoPi Neo3 and NanoPi R2S on
