I've tried CLI version yesterday; HDMI output works now but I cannot get Kodi to work. I get:
ERROR: failed to initialize egl display
ERROR: Failed to find matching visual
I've tried installing Mali and Xserver stuff from Rockchip GitHub but that b0rks HDMI output.
Any suggestions?

None. We don't deal with KODI. Perhaps when there will be 10x more developers around and/or we will become bored

But there are community supported scripts to fix multimedia dependencies (I don't know it also help to run KODI), but there is no support for RK3399 yet.
We need to adopt this:

It's something to do with X, FriendlyArm fixed it in their Core build.
But a good idea, Media script for Lubuntu was posted here:
viewtopic.php?f=62&t=1593I'll see what it does and try to replicate it for Armbian. Will post here if I get it working.

It is the same author behind all this. There are good chances that it will work ... the idea is to implement/pack it to the desktop distribution, but its some work ...

For Kodi on the RK3399`s in Armbian there`s this script from JMCC:
https://forum.armbian.com/topic/9272-de ... ia-script/It installs vpu support (4k 30fps), HW ACC for Chromium, and you can install KODI with it.
