Ubuntu nanoPi-M4 upgrade causes freeze and won't reboot

Moderators: chensy, FATechsupport

Has anyone encountered this problem?
Installed rk3399-sd-friendlydesktop-bionic-4.4-arm64-20190718.img.

apt update followed by apt upgrade starts upgrading lots of packages and fails part way through and reboot won't work needing a reinstall of the img on the uSD card.
It seems there is a difference between Ubuntu and the FriendlyaArm image.
