SOM-RK3399 Android HDMI-In EDID??

When connecting cameras to the HDMI input of the SOM-RK3399 dev kit my camera doesn't show up unless I set it to explicitly output 1080p. If the HDMI output resolution is set to "AUTO" it is not recognized. I'm assuming this is because there is no EDID support. Is this assumption correct? And is there a way to add EDID support? I'm running Android 8.1.
