Hello,
I have a project that the R5C seems to fit perfectly, except that I need to have a couple of IOs. Specifically I need 2 outputs and 2 inputs.

Does anybody know if there are some spare GPIOs on the board that I could use?

The GPIOs are presently used for three UART. Who will use this ? You can disable UART and reuse the GPIO for your needs.
Note I have not tested this so I cannot guide you.
