R5S USB Wifi

I just got a NanoPi R5S and a D-Link DWA-181 (https://us.dlink.com/en/products/dwa-18 ... sb-adapter) USB WiFi adapter. When I plug it in it shows up in lsusb and dmesg gives me idVendor=2001 and idProduct=331e, but I do not end up with a wireless network interface. A Google search says that 2001:331e is an RTL8812BU device so should be supported out of the box.
What am I missing?
