RK3588 Nano-PC T6 – Cellular and Wi-Fi Not Working on Ubuntu

Moderators: chensy, FATechsupport

Hi everyone,

We’re currently developing a product using the RK3588-based Nano-PC T6, and we're running into some issues with network connectivity.

Problem Details:
Cellular: The board has a SIM card slot, but we can't get any cellular connection. We've tried different SIMs (confirmed working with the carriers), but nothing seems to happen. No cellular interface is showing up.

Wi-Fi: Wi-Fi is also not working — the interface doesn’t appear at all. We’ve tried configuring it via both terminal and GUI without success.

Ethernet: Works fine, but our application depends on wireless (Wi-Fi + cellular) for deployment.

Setup:
We're using the Ubuntu OS provided by FriendlyElec for this board.

System is fully updated, and we’ve checked dmesg and network interfaces but couldn’t find any clue about Wi-Fi or cellular modules being recognized.

Our Use Case:
We’re preparing this board for production, and wireless connectivity is essential. We'd really appreciate any help or guidance.

Questions:
Does the Nano-PC T6 support cellular and Wi-Fi out of the box?

Are there specific modules or chipsets recommended by FriendlyElec?

Any drivers or setup guides available for Ubuntu?

Thanks in advance for your help!
You use the T6 (not the T6-LTS):
- what wlan adapter did you install (usb or pcie, what make and what model)
- what LTE adapter did you install

I have the T6-LTS myself and while I don't have much problems with a rtl8822, I prefer a mediatek mt7922 or intel ax210 (mediatek can be used with hostap, intel as wifi client only, all pcie E-key).
