SD card not recognized

i'm running android tv on a r5s via emmc. i inserted an SD card but the device won't detect it. i've tried formatting it to fat/ext/exfat/ntfs with no success. it does detect usb devices without issues. is this intended? please let me know and thank you in advance.

Hello, I think you should check the device's settings to ensure that the SD card is enabled and recognized. Go to the "Storage" or "Storage & reset" section in the Android TV settings menu and see if the SD card is listed. If it's not, try tapping on the three-dot menu or gear icon in the storage settings and look for an option to "Mount" or "Format" the SD card.
