Help with "4.4.3 Install OS to eMMC"

Hi, I have been trying to follow the instructions on the Friendly Elect wiki but I have been experiencing issues and would appreciate some guidance please.
Under "4.4.3 Install OS to eMMC", is it necessary to do both "4.4.3.1.1 Flash Official OS to eMMC" and "4.4.3.1.2 Flash third party OS (Image file) to eMMC" or are the two a choice? I have assumed it is a choice, but that leads me to my main issue.
I followed "4.4.3.1.1", and got the OMV login page on the CLI. I logged in using the root password but instead of loading the full OMV interface, I just have the CLI with "root@openmediavault:`#".
How do I get to the full OMV GUI?
